Minor Oral Defense: "Hom Complexes of Set Systems"

Abstract: In this talk, I will briefly discuss some results by Jacob Jonsson. I will first introduce the definition of set systems, how it relates to poset topology, and give a brief review of the topological combinatorics involved. Then I will talk about how we think about Hom complexes of general set systems first, and then move on to particular set systems including monotone set systems and interval set systems. Finally I will discuss some categorical properties of set systems if time permits.
