Szego Seminar: "Hausdorff Dimension of some exceptional sets"

Alberto Dayan, Washington University in Saint Louis

Abstract: In this talk we are going to review the main properties of Hausdorff dimension and cover the necessary results for calculating the Hausdorff dimension of recursively defined Cantor-Type sets. Time permitting, we will see how this applies to calculating the Hausdorff dimension of some exceptional sets related to problems of dyadic and Diophantine approximation.
