Szego Seminar: "Littlewood-Paley Theory and Applications"

Manasa Vempati, Washington University in Saint Louis

Abstract: Littlewood-Paley theory is a set of ideas used to extend certain results about L2 functions to Lp functions for 1 < p < ∞. In general, it is typically used as a substitute for orthogonality argument and is intimately related to Calderon-Zygmund theory. We will discuss certain applications of the theory, including theorems on the derivation of multipliers, which give sufficient conditions to show bounded functions to be Lp-multipliers.
