The Department of Mathematics at WUSTL will be hosting the Math Kangaroo in USA International Competition in Mathematics on March 20, 2014 from 4:00-7:00pm, in Cupples I Hall, room 199.

By inviting young students of all national or ethnic origin to the International Competition in Mathematics, Math Kangaroo encourages widespread mastery and comprehension of mathematics and applications The organization strives to develop each student's ability to derive pleasure and satisfaction through intellectual life, and shows that mathematical education is significant in every part of the world. Participating contestants in the St.Louis area were recruited by Blake Thornton, the Department of Mathematics' Coordinator of Lower Division Teaching, and the Math Circle leader at WUSTL. Math Circles is one of the Department of Mathematics' outreach activities to middle school and high school students, one division of a nationwide program.
